All of the network news stations have moved on to covering hurricane Hanna and Ike, but we’re still stuck on Gustav. Today in Conway, many of the streets were flooded and the creek near our home overflowed.
Inside the tower, we had a few problems with the hard rain and winds from the east. I was shocked to see a storm come in from the south east, even though I knew it was coming.
Here is Gustav on the way in:
The clouds look really puffy like a thunderhead, but unified like a front.
Today I spent most of the day changing the towels from the leaks. It rained all day yesterday with no problems. Feeling really silly right now for selling our box fan at the garage sale, but the ceiling fans have been going nonstop. A few of Ty’s books were completely soaked, but they should recover.
Other places in Arkansas and Northern Louisiana are without power from the rain. We are still getting current!
